The Bono Regional Police Command has apprehended a 32-year-old man, Sulemana Adams, for his alleged involvement in theft and destruction of property. Popularly known by his alias, ‘Zambia,’ the suspect reportedly targeted a staff member of the Sunyani Municipal Hospital, breaking into their Toyota Highlander and making away with various valuables.
According to a police statement issued by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer of the Bono Regional Police Command, the incident occurred on August 10, 2025, at Baakoniaba, a residential area in the Sunyani Municipality. The suspect allegedly smashed the rear door glass of the vehicle to gain access and stole an HP laptop computer, GH₵11,000, €80 cash, unspecified amounts of Kenyan Shillings and South African Rands, a power bank, and an external hard drive.
Following the incident, the police launched an intensive operation to locate the suspect. Acting on intelligence, officers placed him under 24-hour surveillance. This strategic approach led to his arrest on August 12, 2025, at Kuotokom, a suburb of Sunyani. The operation was carried out by the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate.
During interrogation, Sulemana Adams reportedly admitted to committing the crime. His confession enabled police officers to recover several stolen items, including the HP laptop, GH₵10,710, €10, $32, CFA2,000 cash, additional foreign currency coins, an external hard drive, and the power bank.
The police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing to ensure justice is served. The suspect remains in custody as preparations are made to arraign him before court.
