In a significant breakthrough against organized cybercrime, the Ghana Police Service has successfully arrested two suspects and rescued multiple victims in an intelligence-led operation in Tema. The operation, which took place on February 2, 2026, was spearheaded by the Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and executed by a combined team of law enforcement personnel.

According to an official statement released by the police on February 12, 2026, the mission was meticulously planned and aimed at dismantling ongoing cyber fraud activities while ensuring the safety of individuals who had been illegally confined. The operation was coordinated by the Special Operations Unit and personnel from the Okpoi-Gono District Headquarters under the leadership of ASP Grace Owusua Gyan.

The statement detailed the objectives of the operation, which included rescuing kidnapped victims, apprehending suspects, and disrupting cybercrime operations. Two male suspects, identified as Robinson Endurance and Derrick Glory, were apprehended without resistance at Devtraco Estate in Community 25, Tema.

During the operation, law enforcement officers discovered and rescued ten victims who had allegedly been held against their will and coerced into engaging in cyber-related criminal activities. This disturbing revelation underscores the growing threat posed by organized cybercrime networks and highlights the importance of proactive measures to combat such illicit activities.

Photographs of the suspects, victims, and recovered exhibits were documented as part of the investigation process and shared with the media. These materials will serve as crucial evidence for prosecution and further inquiries.

The Okpoi-Gono District Police have assured the public that additional updates regarding the investigation and legal proceedings against the suspects will be provided in due course. The Ghana Police Service remains committed to safeguarding citizens and dismantling criminal networks that threaten public safety and security.

This successful operation serves as a testament to the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing strategies and collaborative efforts within law enforcement agencies. It also reinforces the importance of vigilance and public cooperation in combating cybercrime and ensuring justice for victims.

The Ghana Police Service continues to urge citizens to report suspicious activities and provide information that can aid in preventing and addressing cyber-related crimes. Together, these efforts will contribute to creating a safer and more secure environment for all.
