We are deeply saddened to report on a tragic incident that occurred on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at approximately 8:00 PM, in which a Pragya rider suffered paralysis, and two other passengers on the tricycle are currently grappling with life-threatening injuries at the Ajumako District Government Hospital.

The cause of this devastating event was attributed to an overspeeding private car (registration number GE-4050-11) that collided head-on with the Pragya tricycle. According to Kasapa News correspondent Yaw Boagyan, the driver of the private car was reportedly racing from Breman Essiam towards Ajumako, reaching Odasani Junction, where he swerved from his lane, resulting in the catastrophic collision.

The high-speed rush of the private car driver was allegedly motivated by his urgency to reach the Ajumako Police Station, as his friend had been apprehended by the Electricity Company of Ghana for an illicit power connection. Following the collision, the culpable driver fled the scene in an attempt to evade the wrath of enraged residents.

Authorities have been swift in their response to this incident, with the Ajumako District Police Station being notified and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident has been initiated.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during this difficult time. We urge all road users to prioritize safety and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent such harrowing incidents from reoccurring.
