We regret to report a tragic road accident that occurred on the Kasoa – Cape Coast highway, resulting in the loss of four lives and leaving six individuals in critical condition.
The collision involved a tipper truck with the Registration number GN 2820-21 and a Ford Transit passenger vehicle with the registration number GG 5447-22, near the Awutu Bereku township.
According to Nii Armah, a survivor of the incident, the driver of the tipper truck appeared to have lost control of the vehicle, crossing into oncoming traffic and causing the collision. Nii Armah expressed concern that the driver may have been fatigued or possibly dozing off, compounded by the thick fog present at the time of the accident.
Tragically, four individuals lost their lives at the scene, while the injured were promptly transported to St. Gregory Hospital for urgent medical attention.
