In a recent public notice, the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has sounded the alarm over fraudulent activities targeting prospective applicants. The Service has observed an increase in fake emails, messages, and websites claiming to offer recruitment opportunities or assistance. These scams are designed to deceive unsuspecting individuals, often seeking payments or personal information under false pretenses.

To address this issue, GIS has issued a strong advisory urging the public to exercise caution and vigilance. In a statement shared on its official Facebook page, the Service emphasized that it does not request payments through unofficial platforms or personal accounts. Any such solicitations should be treated as fraudulent.

 Official Recruitment Channels

The GIS has reiterated that all legitimate recruitment information is exclusively communicated through the following verified platforms:

1. The Applicant’s Portal on the Cserp Platform: This is the official portal for all recruitment-related activities.

2. GIS Official Communication Channels: Updates and announcements are shared only through these channels.

3. Social Media Platforms of the Ministry of the Interior: The Ministry’s verified social media accounts serve as additional sources of accurate information.

Applicants are strongly advised to rely solely on these platforms to stay informed about ongoing recruitment processes. By doing so, they can avoid falling victim to scams and misinformation.

Protect Yourself from Fraud

Scammers often employ tactics such as creating fake websites, sending emails that appear legitimate, or using messaging platforms to lure victims into making payments or sharing sensitive information. To safeguard yourself:

- Verify the authenticity of any communication claiming to be from GIS.

- Do not engage with individuals or platforms requesting unofficial payments.

- Cross-check information with GIS’s official channels before taking any action.

 A Call for Vigilance

The Ghana Immigration Service has taken this step to protect the public and ensure transparency in its recruitment processes. By staying alert and relying on verified sources, prospective applicants can avoid becoming victims of fraud.

For further updates and accurate information, always refer to the official Applicant’s Portal on the Cserp platform, GIS’s communication channels, and the Ministry of the Interior’s social media accounts. Let us all remain vigilant and help spread awareness to prevent others from falling prey to these fraudulent schemes.

Stay informed. Stay safe.
